荒漠化英语作文
Dear editor,
Some years ago, my hometown used to be a beautiful place. Thick trees and green grass could be seen all over the hills. As time went on, people destroyed almost the whole forest to grow more crops. To make matters worse, people let their cattle eat up the grass. So, you can only see wasteland instead of green forests now. As a result, when it rains, the soil is washed down the hills and into the rivers. Strong winds also blow away the valuable soil that lies on the top of the fields. I do hope all the people will take good care of the forests and plant more trees to improve our living conditions.
Sincerely yours,
Li Hua
Dear editor,
I am writing to draw attention to the serious problem of land desertification in my hometown. Some years ago, the area was a lush green paradise with tall trees and abundant grass. However, human activities have led to the deforestation and degradation of the land. People have cleared large areas of forests to cultivate more crops, and cattle have been allowed to graze freely, causing the grass to be eaten up. Now, the once vibrant landscape is nothing but a barren wasteland.
The consequences of this are dire. During rainfalls, the soil is washed away, polluting the rivers and water bodies. Strong winds further exacerbate the problem by blowing away the topsoil, which contains valuable nutrients. This not only leads to soil erosion but also deprives the land of its fertility.
I urge everyone to take immediate action to prevent further degradation of our land. We should plant more trees, enforce strict regulations on land use, and encourage sustainable agricultural practices. By working together, we can restore our hometown to its former glory and ensure a better future for all.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
Dear editor,
I am writing to express my concern about the growing problem of land desertification in my hometown. In the past, the area was known for its lush green forests and rich biodiversity. But now, due to human intervention and neglect, these forests have been replaced by a barren wasteland.
