Liu Xiang

He won his first international 110m hurdles event in Switzerland and a gold medal at the Asian Games in Korea. In 2004, he won the first Olympic gold medal in the same event for China in Athens, Greece. Liu Xiang is not only a sporting hero in China but also trains for gold.

Li Ning is a famous Chinese gymnast who was born on September 8, 1963. He began practicing gymnastics at the age of 8 and joined the Guangxi gymnastics team at the age of 10. He was selected into the national gymnastics team at 17 and won six Gymnastics Championships in the World Cup in 1982. Li Ning won three gold medals in the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1984 and was rated as the "best athlete of the century" in 1999. He was included in the "International Gymnastics Hall of Fame" in 20××, becoming the first World Gymnastics celebrity among Chinese athletes.
